A question for the gearheads on the forum....yes or no for shock absorbers? I have an Outdoors RV Black Rock 19B, which leaves the factory without shock absorbers. The equivalent upscale Creekside gets them. Question is, are they necessary? I have owned only two travel trailers; neither had shocks. Never had a stability problem with either, but I do note the Black Rock is a better tow.

I understand the arguments for shocks, but, has anyone done direct testing?

I think with shocks you will see a lot fewer items being tossed around in the cupboards and refrigerator. Especially if the kitchen is located at the rear of the trailer.

Had a 2010 Kodiak 23 ft tandem axel no shocks. Bought a Wind River 250 RDSW tandem axel with shocks about 3500lbs heavier and 7 ft longer trailer. The shocks appear to dampen the ride/ bounce. Also have rubber suspension on the Wind
River. I have noticed a better tow with the the Wind River..not so much kangarooing. It just feels better having shocks. No direct testing just my opinion for what it's worth.
