Shopping for new TT

Hi there, I'm new here and looking to buy a new TT we found one that we like ( layout and looks) a "2013 Winnebago 27RBDS ". Any comments, input, advice and suggestion with regards to this brand is greatly appreciated. (Experience with Winnebago good or bad)?

Thank you

We've had our 2201DS Minnie for a couple of months, and so far, we're very pleased with it. I did have to tighten some plumbing fittings, and the bar fridge that came in the outside kitchen was DOA. Service at the factory was excellent....had a ladder installed and they replaced the fridge. Overall, I think the quality of the Winnebago trailers is above average, but it's hard to really know when there aren't that many owners that have posted their experiences on the web. There have been a couple of negative reports, but I think they were primarily on units produced very early in Winnebago's return to TT production.

As you probably know, Winnebago bought out Sunnybrook, which was a pretty good company, and many of the workers at Winnebago towables are Sunnybrook workers.

If you go with the Winnebago...as with any purchase...check out everything carefully. As mentioned above, I had to tighten quite a few plumbing fittings (kitchen). And, read the manual as some dealers fail to know or tell you about such things that the power button for the slide should stay on when towing!

Good luck, and I'd really like to hear about the Winnebago if you decide to purchase it!

For sure, I agree with you about the better workmanship compared to some TT we look at with the same weight and size. thanks for sharing, hope to hear more from other owners. Any other brand you can recommend?

Thank you

After 6+ months of shopping, we were going to buy a 28DDBH which is the bunkhouse version. It was the last man standing after carefully eliminating dozens of others.
When we went to buy it, it was sold! The next one would have been months away and more money as it would have been a 2014. It was also a bit too heavy for our vehicle, so we ended up with the Minnie. Same appliances and quality materials.
No other TT we looked at in this price range had as much quality and as efficient a layout. Storage, pantry, wardrobes, counter-space, residential faucet! Nothing else was on par.
I maintain it was the best out of at least 100 trailers we looked at in depth and in person and I had cash in hand to buy it. The Minnie has proven excellent, and I have no regrets about the Winnebago towables.

I've had the Winnebago 29RL for 4 months now. It's classy look certainly gets a lot of heads turning as people walk by. Have only only had 2 issues once I took delivery... and they were minor issues easily solved in less time than it would take to drag the TT to the dealership. I really like these Winnebago TTs and would expect the 27RBDS to be a lot of fun. If you have the tow vehicle capacity, consider a Winnebago with more weight carrying capacity. This one has a lower capacity than most other TTs and may quickly max out as it is loaded and modified. This is evidenced just by the water tank; the water tank with 56 gals of fresh water is 500 lbs - compare that to the total capacity of this TT and see how quicklly weight capacity is consumed. Good luck.

Carrying capacity is still over 1,000lbs. It's not huge, but I can't imagine what all you would load up to get there. And how often do you tow 460lbs of water around? If you're boondocking, you may be able to fill up when 90% of the way there.
