Shore/AC power no longer works in TT
hi there. I'm not sure why, but I just noticed my TT suddenly does not have power. Good news is I am home. This is a 2000 29' Terry.
I tested the run to the camper and it's good. I do have 1 GFI in the bathroom and reset it but that didn't help. I reset all of the breakers, I didn't check the fuses yet.
What's throwing me off is I can hear a motor (more like a whine) or something on the LP Gas Leak Detector, it seems to cycle every few minutes so I think the TT is getting power, but something is preventing it for getting to the rest.
Thank you for any suggestions!

You may have to take the junction box where the power cord comes in apart and check out the connections. Sometimes they can come loose. Also have a look at all the connections in the breaker panel. Good luck.

Does the 12v side of things work? (lights, water pump). A loose 120v wire would be my first guess if you only have a problem with the ac side of the house.
Circuit breakers fail from time to time. Do you have a generator transfer switch?

I meant to check this yesterday. I just went to add a battery to test and the red connector + outside of the TT is hot to the touch. Not burn my hand hot but it's definitely hot. Not sure if i should connect the battery or not

Was it touching the frame? Rv 12v converters are not designed to run without a battery as they have very little filtering in their design. You should always have a battery hooked up when connecting to shore power UNLESS you have a switch to select between charging the battery and powering 12v accessories.

Unfortunately it was touching the frame, no battery hooked to it, i'm thinking at this point something is burned out/shorted? I don't have a manual switch to select between charging and powering the 12v accessories, it's done automatically.
Thanks for your help and info.

Good news, I hooked up a battery and was able to power lights, i unhooked the battery to try shore power and that worked as well, right now I have the TT unplugged. Thanks for the info, I'm not sure what 'fixed' the issue, I will look into it, i think the positive battery cable caused something to reset but for now i'm happy to report it is working.
