Our shower has a "skylight" above it. I'd like to block the light coming in from it so that I'm not awake with the roosters in the morning. However, I'd like to be able to have some light come in during the day. We are thinking of trying to use one of those sun blockers that folks put in their vans to block the sun for the kids. Does anyone have a better idea???

By the way, why oh why would an RV manufacturer put in a skylight above a shower that doesn't open???? Duh!!! Am I the only one that thinks this is useless??

We LOVE our skylight! We had a trailer that did not have one, and I can tell you that getting up in the morning is a lot cheerier now. Our fifth has a sliding panel (door)that can separate the bed from the bathroom area if we don't want the sunlight. We refer to an RV without sunlight as a "cave", and we don't like living in a cave. If you check, almost all new RV's have the same style skylight.

How would ya like one right over your head when your sleeping, ive got one that im considerating using something like that too... Because it stinks getting up with the roosters

We have a small skylight in the bedroom of our TT. The previous owner found a small mini-shade like cover (it rolls up) and installed it. I must say I am glad he did that for us. I am not sure where he found it, but I would think a large camping/RV supply place would have such an item.

I have 2 skylights - 1 in the shower and 1 in the living room. I also have a vent in the bedroom. I like the skylights - the one in the shower allows me to stand upright while taking a shower - I'm 6'2". The living room skylight has an accordion blind that can be closed to block the light. I am sorry but when camping I am an early to bed early to rise type so I don't mind some light in the morning

We had the same problem in our Sundancer, I installed the roll up shade like "Cat" mentioned (two) (one rolling in each direction so they would overlap without a problem, the hook supplied holds them in place) from Camping World. Wife loved to sleep in in the morning but the light woke her up, after install, no more divorce city and you can open or close them as needed.

Sounds like the roll up blind is the way to go!! I'm going to try it!

Now, no more getting up with the roosters, and I won't have a cave. Plus, since the honey is 6'1", he can roll up the blind and stand upright with his head in the clouds er... I mean bubble.

It wasn't sunlight, but a street light that kept me up. I bought a roll of the insulated aluminum at Lowes. I removed the inner cover of the skylight and cut a piece to fit. I did this with the roof vent in the bedroom as well as my bedroom windows. It works great while also providing an R-value increase. I plan on doing most of my windows this summer to see if the trailer stays cooler.

Our travel trailer bathroom has a skylight over the shower and we like it. Not only does it light up the shower but gives an extra few inches of head room. It doesn't bother us in the early morning hours because we keep the bathroom door shut. In addition, there is a 14" vent in the bathroom, which had the typical small "mickey mouse" fan in it. Of course, our bathroom is at the back of the trailer and the bedroom is in the front of the trailer.

We have 3 14" vents in our unit. One is over the bed, and we use one of these to block the light in the early hours http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/index.cfm?deptI...skunum=26552&src=TSC.

I've installed two Fantastic Fans, one in the bathroom vent and one in the kitchen vent. In addition, I installed one of these vent covers over each vent, including the bedroom, to give us full air circulation whent the weather is less than perfect http://www.campingworld.com/browse/products/index.cfm?d...Of=51,16&prodID=4079

That's how we handle the ambient light and air circulation in our unit.
