Towing Mirrors. Sorry I got the subject line incorrect!

I'm thinking that I might need a pair of them, temporary.

Anyone else using the temporary kind and how are those working out for you?

Above is the front view and below is the back side view. They're made by CIPA

Thanks for your feedback or alternatives ideas!

I bought a set and put them back in the box after the first try. Mirror quality not very good and slightest uneven roadway makes them quiver. Headache material

I use this kind (K Source Universal Clip-On Extra Large Towing Mirror K Source Mirrors KS3891) and they work great. Took about 10 minutes to get them adjusted correctly the first time, now they are on/off in less than 5 min. Very little vibration or movement when driving.

I tried something like what everyone else is posting and wasn't happy w/ any of them. So I switched out my mirrors permanently w/ real tow mirrors on my now past Tacoma. If you want to know how I did this I can point you the way. First pic just show the difference in size from old to new mirror.

I am still using the CIPA mirrors purchased in 1992. We returned from our Alaska trip the middle of Sep. and I have no intention of buying more expensive mirrors. It doesn't matter if they shake driving down the road, the only time they are vitally needed is when backing up; they don't shake at low speed. I once bought the more expensive, semi-permanent, clamp-on mirrors from camping world. They shook at highway speeds too. I returned them to CW. I estimate those CIPA mirrors have helped me tow over 70,000 miles to date.

Another vote for the CIPA slide on extended mirrors. They were $69 for my 06 F-150 and have worked great for over 2 years. They slide over the stock mirrors and are held in place by a threaded rod with a knob on one end to twist them down tight. No vibration and they never have come loose. When I park the trailer I just put them in the TT's storage bay. Works for me.

I too tried them on my excursion when I had the open range TT and returned them after the first try....

got online and found a set of towing mirrors from a wrecked ford truck that matched and swapped them out....

lesson learned when I traded the excursion in on the new truck = insisted on the power folding tow mirrors from the start !!!

I've got to correct my previous post- #7. I have the mirrors the OP asked about, but I got the name of them wrong. Sorry. I did buy a set of CIPA mirrors at Camping World in Ft. Myers but their service man couldn't get them to fasten onto my GM OEM mirrors either, after I gave up. CW refunded my money and I put my strap-ons back on. In fact I have another set in the garage, just in case I lose one.
If things go as planned, my new towing mirrors will have a new MH attached.
