Slide-out motor doesn't work at all. How can I test various aspects of the system e.g. is the motor getting power, is the switch bad, is the battery putting out enough power (lights work ok)
Thank you for any help in enabling me to possibly solve the problem without dropping off trailer for service.

Hello Rick,

Welcome to iRV2, we're really glad to have you here as a new member and are looking forward to reading your posts about your RVing experiences and adventures in your 2004 Trailite. You'll find a great bunch of folks on this site who are very knowledgeable of RVing, the rigs we use, and the places we go in them.

Test the DC voltage when the slide switch is activated, if it drops a considerable amount from what the voltage is at the battery, you may just have a weak battery. If there is not even a slight drop in voltage then you might check for a tripped DC circuit breaker or a broken electrical connection. There are several other possibilities but these tests should get you started.

As you'll see, members are eager to help and share their knowledge and experiences.

Again, welcome to iRV2, we're glad you joined. :wave

One thing you don't want to over look is, your unit may have an additional switch in one of your cabinets. Mine does and I tripped it one time and it took a few min to remember/find.

Rick, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us. Can you give us a little more info as to what type or manufacturer of the slideout is in your unit? Thank you and hope you enjoy the website. Have a great summer.

My Forest River 5vr has a small white switch behind the battery that would trip every so often and require me to reset. Sort of like a GFCI switch. Just push the button back in and slide would work again.

Go here, then click on slide room systems. It may have something to help too.
