Slide out open or closed

Is it best to leave slide out opened or closed when not in use. I have heavy squirrel traffic in my neighborhood. Can squirrels get into the camper when slide out is open?

No sense in just leaving it open especially if it is outdoors.........Mine sits all winter in a climate controlled garage and my slide is in unless we go on a weekend camping adventure.......

Howdy and welcome! We don't have a TT, but we store the RV with slides in.

Squirrels are very adept at getting into small crevices and openings I'd opt for slides closed when left unattended for any length of time.

Closed especially if unattended for some time. Along comesa wind and rain store and the possibility of damage.
