Slide Won't Move - Any Suggestions?

We are opening our Gulf Stream Gulf Breeze travel trailer for the summer, and we can't get the electric slide to move out. When we push the button, it makes the noise like it is going to move out, but nothing happens.

When we winterized in November and moved the slide in, it worked great. Not sure what is going on. We are fairly new to travel trailers and any suggestions that you might have to fix the slide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I had that issue twice. Once in a 5er when a washer from within the gear box became lodged between 2 gears. Another time, which came on gradually was caused by the slide awning roller binding. It would start, but that was it. The tech had a hard time finding it, until he removed the awning.

First check your fuse.

Most coaches have a slide controller that allows for electrical adjustment, to adjust the power in and out. It is located in some out of the way location. Like under a drawer or in the back of a cabinet or closet.

Check the battery. A slide requires alot of power and the converter usually cant move it without the battery.

There should be a hole under the front door or somewhere visible where you can put the manual bar and try to open and close it manually. I would try that to se if its stuck or not and that might just get it going until you can have it looked at.

If it makes a noise, it is NOT a fuse problem.
Try having someone help by pushing the slide to help it.
Is your battery fully charged, and is the charger connected when you operate the slide?

Either it is jammed, or drawing too much current, and the controller is shutting down.

What brand is it?
