Slides work, but nothing else works on battery power

Hi,

I have a 1999 Sunnybrook 33FKS. The slides are the only things that work off of battery power; none of the lights, water pump, or fridge work. The batteries on the trailer are new and fully charged. I looked at all the circuit breakers, fuses, grounds, etc and nothing looks out of place or bad. Everything works great when the trailer is plugged in. I replaced the 12v circuit breaker just incase that was bad (read another thread that suggested that). I'm at a loss of what else to do. Any suggestions would help.

Thanks
Kris

Do you have a battery cut-off switch? Motorhomes usually have a switch near the door and I assume trailers and 5'ers do too. If the cut-off switch is flipped to the off position, you won't get 12 volts to anything.

Slides are wired directly from batteries............all those other items are fed from DC Dist Panel via individual fused circuits

They work when on shore power cause converter is supplying DC system

Battery and converter are not connected electrically.

So either the main battery fuse (or DC circuit breaker) is bad.....on battery positive cable to converter usually close to battery

OR

Converter 'Reverse Polarity' fuses are blown......large 30A or 40A fuses on converter

You stated 'new batteries'........if battery cables were connected backwards even for a second the polarity fuses blow.

on my 2005 Coachman 29FKCS.. there are 2 circuit breakers behind the front Frame rail... one for slide-out and other for Trailer.. and it then goes to the fuse panel.

your trailer one may have failed. or has loosened its bolts.
