Smalling TT - Ducts or Not

We are shopping for a smallish travel trailer. Something around the 26 - 28 ft mark. Something with bunks, and a queen bed that is not in a divided room.

I've seen some units that have ducting for the AC and heat. Some had ducting only for the heat, and some had no ducting at all (I assume each unit just dumps the air into the living compartment)

I understand that the heat ducting has the advantage of being part of the 'cold' package. But are there any advantages to having these units ducted? Is there really an advantage for a floor plan like we're interested in?

Ducted a/c units will generally mean you have a thermostat where as non ducted will be on or off. On the non ducted you can only control the amount of time the compressor runs but the fan will be continuous. A/c unit ducts come out of the roof and have nothing to do with the furnace floor vents.

Our old 25ft trailer had a non ducted AC and there were two issues with it. One was the noise since all the air was blasting out of the AC in one location it was louder than any ducted unit I've seen. Second was that the air was coming straight out at the ceiling so it made the upper bunk cold while the bottom bunk and queen bed wouldn't get any air and be hot. Simple solution was to use small fans to move the air around.

For heating ducts in a small trailer even in 20 degree weather I wouldn't bother using the propane furnace and instead would just use an electric heater.

For me I'd try hard to find a unit that had a ducted AC but if I found one that didn't and I really liked everything else I wouldn't let it stop me from buying it.

Look at the Winnie Plus line up. Our daughter has one with a front queen bed and two bunks in the back.
