If you've been following along...

Well we've made a few decisions.

The fiberglass used Viewfinder is out. It had too much wear and tear and looked as if it had never been washed or waxed. It had some DIY elements to it as well, which
I did not like.

We've also decided against the Gulfstream. The price is nice, but the quality isn't up to par.

Our final decision is that we are in fact buying a Jayco brand trailer, and we'll be buying it from Lone Star RV. Every other dealership that we talked to with the exception of a few has been almost scared to deal with us. It's as if they are scared to sell a trailer to us. Not personable, not very informative, very standoffish, and I even had one point blank tell me they didn't have anything for us.

And it's either going to be the X17Z, which we keep straying from and keep coming back to. Or the new option which is the Jayco Jay Flight 23RB. The X17Z is fiberglass and has the expandable tent beds, and the 23RB is aluminum but is on the upper end of our length scale.

We just like the quality of the Jayco units. They feel much more solid than anything else that we've looked at, and even their lower priced units still feel sturdy and well built. And that two year warranty is nice too.

That two year warranty is a big point in our shopping too, think the only other brand that offers a similar program is KZ. In our area the closest big dealer ( with a good rep ) sells a LOT of Jaycos....

We have both KZ and Jayco, but KZ feels much cheaper. I know they use ON on their bed frames and dinette while Jayco uses plywood. I can only assume the rest is built the same way.

Leaning strongly towards a Jayco too. We're just about to start building our new home, so other things (like a new Truck and Trailer) are sort of on the back burner for awhile. Have the truck picked out (F250 6.2 Crew Cab, 4x2) but will do a factory order to get exactly the unit we (okay...I!) want when the incentives are in the right place. Taking our sweet time deciding on a TT, but something around 24 to 26 with a single slide is now the goal...

If the county building dept would issue our construction permit, we could get out of this limbo! LOL

Check the CCC on the X17z. CCC is the difference between the dry weight and the GVWR. After propane, AC, awning and other options, how much weight is left over for your stuff?
