Suburban water heater not hot enough

We have a GulfStream Amerilite 21MB, with a Suburban water heater. It worked fine last year, but now it doesn't switch on very often, and when it does, the water is lukewarm at best. Perhaps the thermostat is shot? Or the anode rod? We're not very savvy, so any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Chechako,
If you have an outside shower or faucet, check that it's not on with both cold and hot water knobs, and the hand sprinkler being the only valve holding the water off.

Cheap fix, and something we all overlook at one point and time. It mixes the water and will cause the problem you have.

Lets cross our fingers and hope this is all to your problem.

DTW

Did you correctly reset your water heater bypass for normal operation?
