SunRay Smokey

DH and I recently bought our first ever camper. We didn't want to sink a lot of money into this new venture until we could test the waters. We got a great deal on a 2004 SunRay Smokey 19' and so far we love both the TT and the camping experience! Does anyone else own this model - I know the company went out of business a few years ago. I would love to hear from you! Just wondering if there are issues/concerns that we should be on the lookout for. My only complaint so far is the almost useless owners manual - apparently a very common thing as I have seen many such complaints on here. This site has been a valuable
resource - thank you for sharing!!

My Owner's Manual from the RV factory was almost useless - only a page or so. But the important info was in the Owner's guides for the various appliances and options on the trailer. AC, water heater, range/oven, awning, microwave, power distribution box, reefer, stereo, axles, tires, etc. Those thin Owner's Guides were all inserted into the RV Owner's guide.

Plus my RV dealer wrote a several-page brochure explaining all about RVing and setting up and towing, and he included that brochure with the RV Owner' Guide and all those appliance and options guides.

Of course, if I really need to know something about my Sunline Nomad Joey Model 196S, I use the internet and a Bing search.
Grumpy ole man with over 50 years towing experience. Now my heaviest trailer is a 7,000-pound enclosed cargo trailer, RV is a 5,600 pound Skyline Nomad Joey 196S, and my tow vehicle is a 2012 F-150 3.5L EcoBoost SuperCrew.
