Super excited!

So I traded in my smaller Keystone Passport trailer for a bigger Bullet trailer three weeks ago and my wife and two kids love it! My buddy and I drove from Miami to northern Indiana (near Chicago) to pick it up. It was a 31 hour drive but well worth it. I saved thousands at this dealership there (Pete’s RV). So my family is now headed to Fort Wilderness in Disney this weekend for our first trip in the new trailer! The only thing I’m worried about is my old Passport had a full size queen bed and this one has the RV queen bed, and I am 6’2” so this might be interesting! I think I’ll manage. Does anybody else who’s somewhat near my height have an RV queen mattress and have you guys been able to manage or is it miserable? Just curious!

I'm 6'6" in our Outback 298RE and no issues with the RV queen. I like my feet hanging off the edge or near it anyway as I sleep on my side/stomach usually.

Congratulations on the new rig!

I'm 6'4", but we swapped our mattress out for a King memory foam immediately.

I pull the mattress away from the headboard and put pillows in the gap. It will give you a few more inches in length.

My head is against the front wall and my feet hang off of the bottom. Takes a few nights to get used to

Like dagriz I prefer to have my feet uncovered and hanging out. Unlike dagriz, I’ve gotten old and fat, so sleeping on my stomach is like laying on a big ball bearing.
The extra couple inches of walking around room is more valuable than foot support.

Just for a followup, we made it on our first trip and the mattress wasn't too bad. It was short and I did have to sleep a little slanted; unfortunately I cant let my feet hang off because the bed buts up against the backside of the TV stand (I have the Bullet 272BHS). Overall we loved our new camper though. The only problem we had the whole weekend was Fort Wilderness and their staff. We have been their numerous times and every time has been amazing, this time they had a lot of issues but I'll leave that for another thread.

I am not 6' 6" but much shorter. Heck, I like my feet hanging off the end too. Not all the time but if sleeping on my stomach it is more comfortable.

I'm 6'1" and my feet hang off the shorter RV queen. It's a really cheap mattress and thin. Our first night was NOT good!
We've bought 3 toppers for it, and it's MUCH better! An 2" foam topper, a 1 1/2" egg crate and a 3" memory foam topper, in that order.
It sleeps much better now, and all those toppers make the bottom edge stick out a little further, so my feet don't hang off quite as much!

Super excited!

Agree, 3” memory foam topper provides a much nicer sleep. At only 5’10” I’m right at the end because I don’t like my head up in the very top and feet hanging off is just fine. I can’t stand to have blankets completely covering me anyway so feet hanging off works out great.

Congratulations on the new rig. I was down at Fort Wilderness in June. Very nice park and very accommodating staff. Only issue I had were the model of TV’s I have in my trailer. They are cable ready but would not connect to Disney’s cable service. Up at the Trading Post store they will lease cable boxes to you free of charge for your stay. They must have a lot of issues with the type of service they ran throughout the park because they have tons of converters ready to go.

Our TT has the short queen too. But this company made a square, long bolster to go at the top of the bed and adds back what you would be missing. It's like a 4x4 or 5x5 and the width of the bed.

Ours originally had a short queen in it. We had plenty of space between the end of the bed and the wall to buy a regular queen mattress and put in our TT so that's what we did. Besides the original mattress was a very cheap mattress. I've had back problems in the past so need a really good mattress.

Tried a few short queens and didn't like them. Bought a new TT with a full queen and bought a completely new home queen mattress on the way home from picking up the TT.
Gave the "as equipped" queen mattress away as fast as we could and haven't looked back. It was easy to give away as it was brand new, never slept on :-) We laid down on it once and said, "NO WAY". Now we look forward to spending time in a good bed. First 4 months we had 45 days in the TT!
