Built in is the way to go. Don't need to hook the portable to the post or remove it when you leave. Get the remote digital readout and this will show you on a rotating basis the incoming volts the amps being used and the error codes. Great unit. Can't go wrong!

I wound up getting the portable unit. I have several gun locks layin around that fit it perfectly on the unit and elec panel. Maybe the next RV will be hard wired. but for now, I'm still learning the Glamping Ropes.
