Taking Delivery
Picking up our Hemisphere Hyperlite 26RLHL tomorrow. I am having them install the equalizing/weight distributing hitch with sway control on my 2013 Ram 1500 5.7l Hemi, 4x4, with AirRide suspension. We also plan to have them install the wireless back-up camera system for the trailer.
What items are they going to try to sell me as "must haves". Are there any benefits of buying from the dealer at closing? e.g. is there a discount on camping memberships that would be better than I can get as a military retiree?
I expect they will try to push some type of maintenance/service plan. Worth it?
TIA

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
Congrats on the new rig! Keep her between the ditches!
I'm not a fan of extended warranties. Some folks say they pay off, but I think that's the exception, not the norm. JMHO
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Welcome and congrats on the new rig.
I too am not a fan on extended warranties.
As to must haves. Do a search on "must haves" as there are a couple of threads here on the forum on things to outfit a rig with.

Glad to have you here in the forum with us.
I'm not a fan of extended warranties. Three things I think are a must, surge protector, water pressure regulator and good fire extinguishers
Best of luck with your new rig.
Happy Trails!!!

I don't buy the service policies, by Federal law they are not a warranty unless purchased from the vehicle manufacturer. As such you have far less legal rights.

If they offer you a starter kit for $99-$199, pass. They are junk and you will do much better researching and buying your stuff off of Amazon. The usefulness of camping memberships depends on where and how often you camp. Some are better than others.
A new camper should come with at least a one year warranty. You should have the bugs worked out of it in the first year. After that, most things you can fix yourself with the help of this board and Youtube. Travel trailer systems are actually quite simple once you get into them. Most of my time working on the camper involves either preventive maintenance or upgrades.
