The antifreeze wont suck thru

Good afternoon,

I am trying to winterize my Jayco 267BHS. I have the water heater bypassed. I put the tube into the antifreeze. the valve is on. I turn on water pump but it will not suck in. I hear the pump on. I put hand on hose and not much suction.

Help!!

Did you close the valve between the pump suction and the fresh water tank? Do you have the faucets most distant from the pump open?

You may also need to prime the tube leading to the water pump. If there is only air in the system it may not have enough suction to start pulling from the jug.

You hit the nail on the head Rusty, my daughter has the same TT. Need to close the Fresh Water Suction so the pump can draw from your Anti Freeze Jug.

Sounds like Jayco hasn't changed the winterizing setup since the 1996 and 2000 Designer 5th wheels we owned. Hey, if it works, why change it?
