She got behind the wheel of the tow vehicle and I gave her directions, often standing right beside her outside the tow vehicle. This worked GREAT, and I would recommend it to anyone!
No more tight jaw events and everyone is happy.

My DW and I do exactly that - she drives and I give directions. It works grea and she does great. This is a case where we don't need to get all macho .
