Tire pressure pump for TT tires
Please let me know what kind of inexpensive compressor to buy to air my TT tires. I have one but it connects to 12v cigarette lighter in truck and I can;t get truck close enough to air TT tires. What kind of pump do I need to periodically air my tires. TT tires are 15" 50PSI tires

Do you have 120 volt power available when you need the air? If so one of the fairly cheap ones from Harbor Freight, Lowes, Home Depot, Sears, etc will do it. In fact I use a small 120V Coleman tank unit even on our 365/70 tires. Sure it's slow, but it works to top them off.
Best is a Viair unit but they aren't cheap.

There will be plenty of folks that don't want to do what I do, but if 120v isn't available where the trailer sits when I need to air the tires, I use one of my gennies for power. It's light enough for me to move easily.

Forget the ones that use the cigarette lighter socket and get one that uses battery clips that is rated for at least the pressures you require.

I just bought another one of these:
It runs on 12V or 120V, you set it to your desired pressure and it shuts off automatically when it gets there.
It is slow, especially on large tires and higher pressures. I set it and go do something else for a while.
Last one I had just died, and I got to looking and it had a date stamp of 2006. If the new one lasts 10 years I'll be ok with that.

Because I have the Lithium Ion tools, I like the Ryobi compressor. It is small and light, and can be preset for the desired pressure. Its also handy for inflating and deflating rafts. It uses the same battery as the drill and impact driver.

I'll have to look into one of these! Do you put the recommended pressure in, or a few pounds lower or higher?

Its your choice. I usually go one or two over as it seems I am a little slow getting the hose off. Also it has a lock on the end so you don't need to hold it. Just clip it on , set the pressure and hit start.

If you plan on using it a lot, invest in the best you can afford. I have this and it's great quality. Not cheap but compact and does the job on my TT tires.
Also be aware of the duty cycle of each compressor, what ever you buy.
I bought the one that you connect directly to the battery, either the tow vehicle or the TT. They have numerous options listed on the left side of the page.

I use one I got at Lowes. It runs on 12 volt or 110. I like it because you set the pressure you want, flip it on and it stops when it gets there. It cost about $50.

I have the same product. It will also not run if it gets hot, and will run again after it cools off. I'm very happy with it.
