Question Toilet seal advice needed

We picked up our first TT Wednesday, decided a stay-cation in the driveway would be best to familiarize ourself with everything before going on our first trip.

In doing so I noticed that the toilet does not hold the small amount of water needed to help prevent venting.

We have a 2015 Evergreen Ascend 191RB. Can't see it being worn and was wondering if there was just something that needed to be done for a new toilet by the owner. Also upkeep tips for the seal to keep it well maintained.

Search engine here has helped a ton but not finding what I need on this one.
thx

Is the toilet equipped with a flat plate or a ball type valve.
The plate type can be cleaned and light coat of vasoline to aid the sealing. The same can be done with the ball type , but the ball can be more prone to surface scratches that will drain off the water so a very close look is required, and caution when cleaning the bowl , because even a toilet brush can scratch the seal surface and lead to replacement being required.

Domestic 300

thx skip, went out and did as you said ...much smoother and was holding when I walked out.

The WP is blowing air but have found some threads to assist on that issue. One thing for sure is the dealer PDI was not as it should have been for a newbie.

Hind site is 20/20 though lol

thx again you two for the replies
