Hello everyone,

What would this group think the Top 5 RV Light Travel Trailers in the 20-25 foot range would be? I would like the weight (GVWR) to stay under 7,000 lbs.

My Father is looking to purchase a Trailer, he is 70 years old, drives a 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 with the Texas Towing Package (GCWR of 15,000). He preferrs Aluminium frame construction instead of wood, for the strength and weight benefits. He also has a budget of $15,000.

I own the Arctic Fox, which I absolutely love, after 6 years of ownership, I have not had any major problems (knocking on wood), but I think the new models will be too heavy for him. So, I like the Nash trailer for him. How are the fleetwood's rated these days?

I own a Fleetwood travel trailer that i've had for several years now.

Not had any major problems so far, touch wood, and the only maintenance i've had to do is to replace the tires.

I'm sure whichever your father goes for, he will enjoy.

Hi-Lo has an interesting line of trailers that are not only light weight but easy to tow when collapsed down for traveling. They have a 24 foot rig that has a GVWR of 6000 lbs that looks good for your Dad's size truck.

We own a Coachman Captiva Ultra-Lite, production weight with the options was 5662. We have had it a year and no major problems at all. Really enjoy the unit. All aluminum construction and fiberglass walls.

Howdy!

Might want to look at Mobile Scout / Sunnybrook. Well made TT's with good Aluminium frame construction. Also a good used Airstream. I purchased a 1988 29' Airstream this year for my daughter that was in great shape for under that price.

new used? Fleetwood is out of the towable business so that is out of the question new. Used, there are a lot of brands that are/were better. Personally and for your budget i would stick with what you know. AF/Nash are hard to beat for quality construction. However I am not a fan of the interior appointments.
