First, let me say "Hi!" I've been a lurker, but never posted until now.

Here's the situation. I'm looking to buy a Trailer that I'll split with a friend. Both of us have had RVs, me an 87 Pace and him a late 80s TNT trailer. It needs to be light enough to pull with a Honda Pilot. It will travel to Canada from Southern Oregon once yearly, so it'll need to be reliable on the road. We both prefer a dedicated rear bed, so something really little like a 13ft. Scamp or a teardrop is out. It must have a shower and toilet, but cassette is OK.

We both want an Oliver or an Escape, but for $4000. HA!!!

In reality, we want to spend $8000 or less. Maybe something like a late 90's Nash?

What I want from you all are not only suggestions that might work, but also what to avoid. For instance, I've heard bad things about Fleetwoods that rolled out just prior to closing. I've also read bad things about the FunFinder X series, poor quality control, etc.

Pilot has a 5,000# limit as I remember. Hard to find anything but a pop up in that range.

Not that we want to spend that much, but a 19' Escape has a GVWR of 4000 and that's bigger than we were thinking. NADA lists the 1999 17' Nash under 3000 lbs. Is there a different number I should be looking at? Thanks!

I didn't realize that I needed to subtract passenger weights. My Pilot also doesn't have a towing package. It's rated 4500 for boat, 3500 trailer, presumably because of wind resistance. I may be looking at a VERY narrow field of candidates.

We've had our 2012 year 19-foot Heartland MPG 185 for just a few months, but we love it. Has a rear queen bed (convertable from a dinette), sofa that converts to a double, shower/toilet, 2 propane tanks, AC, and surprisingly roomy kitchen space. It weighs under 3,000 pounds dry, and tows great with our F-150. So far, it's been terrific. However, they only made them for a few years, and the used ones are still going for over $10k.
