I am pulling a 5300lb Launch trailer with about 1200 lbs of payload and my tranny temps average from 204 to 206. My TV is a 2016 F150 2.7 ecoboost. Does my temps seem okay?

Is the info in the owners manual? If not, there is a topic thread in the tow vehicles section of the forum going over this right now.

If concerned, change the fluid more frequently.

That's too high for me, i have always gone by the real danger mark starts around 220, and you are not far from that !

We tow out 5700# 26rl, and realy don't know our payload, ( just me and the wife ) with a 2013 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi, and have never seen the 180's mark yet.
You tow with Tow/Haul on ?

Then again, that 2.7 is a new engine and sure, power train set up , so as 1big said might be a better question for Ford ! Or other 2.7 owners.

Most P/Us the aux trans coolers , run the trans fluid through the rad tank to cool the fluid to coolant temp , then through an oil to air cooler to cool it even further then back to the trans.
Depending on the temp sensor location , you can be reading the fluid temp , as it leaves the trans towards the coolers ; where it will be the hottest; or in the return line or trans pan ; where the temp will be the coolest.
Anything in you owners manual about what temp to expect ?
Because the engine coolant and trans fluid run together , trans fluid and coolant temps close to each other are to be expected, it's when trans temp gets way above the coolant thermostat operating temp and starts to force engine temp up that you're in trouble.

My trans temps in my Explorer with the 6-speed run 200-205 in normal driving without towing. Towing they bump up room 210-218 range. The cooling fan doesn't even speed up until it gets above 222. I had a Ford tech tell me below 230 is within Ford's allowable specs (but don't quote me on that!).

And be sure to leave the engine idling for 5 minutes or so after towing to cool the tranny down. Some parts of the tranny get over 1200 degrees and shutting the engine off guarantees that fluid sitting in the hot zone is getting burned up and will contaminate the rest of the fluid.

Does it have the tow package? Is there synthetic tranny fluid in it?

Both of these make a difference on cooling the fluid and the temps it can run at. Tow packages almost always have upgrades for engine & transmission cooling among other things.

As stated, maybe a Ford PU forum or a call to Ford would better answer your questions.
