Travel Trailer Upgrades and Maintenance

Thought I'd share some of the maintenance and upgrades we recently completed on our 23' 2010 Skyline Nomad:

1. Finished removing all decals and graphics as they were bubbling and peeling

2. The paint was faded and yellowed. Polished using an 8" wool bonnet on a Kawasaki angle polisher and Mequiar's 105 polishing compound.

3. Replaced both fender skirts with exact match fender skirts from Icon direct.

4. Replaced awning with new awning from Shadepro.net (local RV dealer wanted $648. I replaced it myself for $215 plus a $5 rivet gun from Harbor Freight. Also added an awning cover I made from two $5 vinyl rain gutters I bought at Home Depot.

5. Upgraded house batteries to two Interstate 6v golf cart batteries wired in series with a cut-off switch.

6. New trailer tires from Les Schwab.

All that's left are brakes (which I plan on getting from e-trailer).Click image for larger version

Thanks. We bought it new in 2010. Other than brakes, I need to pop out one of the windows and reseal it.

Great Mods. How does the gutters stay on the awning? And look at the shine!

Thanks. No, as I don't want to deal with future bubbling and pealing (the price you pay if you don't store your TT indoors).
