Travel Trailer Wiring - backup camera
Hey all,
I bought a backup camera system. As part of the system, I have a WiFi transmitter, an extension cord for video signal and 12v power, and the camera.
I decided to put the transmitter at the front of the rig, and run the cable with the other wiring under the frame. This way the signal will be closer/stronger in the truck.
I decided to tap into the running lights power (brown wire I thought) and the ground (white wire) near where my fresh water drain leaves the rig, so as to not drill another hole in the floor.
I tapped into the brown wire and white wire in the bundle, and....the power light is not coming on on the transmitter. It's not working. I made sure the umbilical was plugged into the truck, the truck running, and the running lights are working in the back of the trailer and sides.
Is there another use of the brown wire I am not aware of? In that bundle, I have red shielded brake cables, green and yellow (left and right turn signals I think), brown, white, blue, and black.
Frustrated because I feel like I did the right stuff, but no go.
I have a 2-17 Gulfstream Amerilite 274 QB nd a 2015 Chevy Silverado, not that that probably means much when talking about the wiring harness.
What do you think?
