Smile Traveling in Maine

We are looking to head north from Acadia National Park in May to Moosehead lake. I am new at this and should I be concerned about diesel fuel availability and towing through mountains up there? Any other issues?

Thanks

bigredone, We traveled up to Jackman, ME on RT. 201 and to the best of my recollection there were quite a few fueling stations along the way. I was with the BigRedOne in 1970-71 in III Corps, RVN. 1S&T Bn.

Fuel will not be a problem, Black Flies, now that will be another story. Bring Benedryll or a similar as the bites are fierce.
