The white trim inserts around our TT are terribly mildew stained. I had a handle on it at one time, but lost the battle. Didn't have this problem with our old rig, so it's not an issue with where or how it's being stored. Anyhow, has anyone replaced these and if so, did you run into any problems, snags, surprises? I'm guessing that they come off and go back in fairly easily.

I have a suggestion for you to try before replacing your trim inserts. Try scrubbing with Westley's white wall cleaner. Be careful to test on a small area first and avoid getting it on the trailer siding. I had some trim that had some serious mold stain and it removed most of it. May or may not work for you but worth a try.

If you are talking about the white plastic stuff inside the corner mouldings, it is sold by the foot at most RV parts stores, or your dealer. It simply snaps into place and is secured at the top and bottom with screws and caulking. I would also look at why it is happening. I have had mold and moss problems (north side only) but not mildew.

I had the same problem. Nothing worked, so, as a last resort before replacing the trim, I removed a small section and soaked it in a solution of 50% bleach and 50% water. That removed 95% of the mildew and stain. The vinyl insert, or spline around the glass was much more difficult to obtain the same results.

I have had excellent results using OOPS and a clean cloth liberal application of elbo grease.

I had a massively stained awning (previous owner rolled it up wet, with leaves and pine needles). Bleach, simple green, and other cleaners would hardly touch even with heavy scrubbing.

Full Timer's Choice awning cleaner made it look like new, just rubbing with a sponge...

I don't know how it would do on trim, but might be worth a shot.

I do the same as Handley. If you keep up with it, you can keep it looking good without removal by wiping them down with the bleach solution every few months. If it is too bad, you may need to remove them and soak them overnight. I use a 25% solution. It's a pain, but not hard.

There is a man on Ebay that sells it in 100ft rolls for under 10 bucks. He has it in black which is what I would use to replace. Do this on a warm day, so it is pliable and soak in hot water with soap, the soap will help it slide in!!!

I took mine off a few at a time, soaked them in bleach/water soultion, then laid them out to dry and first primed them with spray paint then painted them white with spray paint. They don't mildew anymore.

I took some off before doing this way and cleaned and sprayed white w/o primmer they didn't last (need the primmer>
