We are trying to decide between a new Flagstaff or Rockwood TT and would like to know first if there is a difference in the trailers - the floor plans look exactlly the same but I have seen chat on the forum where someone said that the Rockwood was a bit lighter, the specs on FR site says they are the same but? Anyone owning either of these trailers could give us their feedback, good or bad we would appreciate it, thanks, Lynn

I'm pretty sure they're the same. The fit/finish is different, which may equate to slight variations in the final weights.

Also, depending on "when" in the year a trailer was built, that could be why the weights are also different. The manufacturer tends to change some materials as they evolve the current product during the model years. For example, my current TT's weight is less than the same unit bought later on in the same calendar year.

They're both nice units! Best of luck to you!

We fell in love with the Rockwood Ultra Lite trailer but wound up buying the 2010 Flagstaff 831FLSS because we found the two units to be identical except for interior color selection and exterior decals. The reason we selectedl the Flagstaff was the several thousand $$$ lower price for the Flagstaff.
We have had the trailer on the road many times in the north Texas area and have been on one trip to Durango Co. area which has mountains exceeding 8000 ft elevations. Out TV is 2008 Tundra dbl cab with 5.7 and tow package.
If given the purchase decision to make again, we would not hesitate to make the same choices a second time. Love our rig.

Both are made by Forest River. Flagstaff supposedly a step or two above the Rockwood.

They are virtually the same trailer. We went with the Flagstaff for dealer preference reasons. We have the 829FKS front kitchen model and, the tell you the truth, so far it is one of the best units we have owned. It is as good as our Prowler and Sunline trailers were, and miles better than our Holiday Rambler.
