I'm in Texas , on a camp out the discussion came up as to who got their TT inspected each yr ?
Mine is a 2012 and the dealer never put the sticker on , I called him and he said yes there is a cost of 14.99
Do the other states have this and he other question, is it enforced ?

$14.50 for a state trailer safety inspection sticker for trailers registered in Texas with a GVWR (or titled) for 4500lbs or more. Once a year, just like a vehicle.
Tires, lights, brakes. I'm certified to test trailers, motorcycles, gas and diesel vehicles.

Yearly inspection required in New York regardless of the weight or size.

Texas says GVWR of 4500# or more, the trailer is to be safety inspected yearly. With the larger rigs, it can be a problem to find a plce with a large enough lot to inspect the trailer. You also have to have the insurance card for the tow vehicle.

No inspections in MN on trailers or cars. We don't have a emissions inspection on cars either unless your the Minneapolis/ St. Paul area. And, if you have a small lawnmower/ snow mobile type trailer you now get a life time sticker to place on the hitch and you don't even get a license plate. Boat trailers are the same way. (Thank god for all of this)

But, they have been really cracking down on trucks here. Any truck over 28000 pounds has to be soooo dammed perfect that they have run a lot of small trucking company's and farmers out of business.

The great Commonwealth of Virginia inspects everything that moves or is towed on the highway.
