TT suggestion

I just found out that my parents '95 ford econoline van has a trailer package. Given this new information, I'm starting to think a travel trailer might be better for us, than a motorhome. I was hoping ya'll could help me out with the better brands, etc. Overall, what should I look for, in a TT?

Just knowing it has a trailer package is not enough. Is the van an E150, E250 or an E350. What engine is in the van and what is the rear axle ratio.

With the additional info we will have an idea which way to steer you.

Oops, guess I left some minor details out, lol. The van is an E150, with a V8, 3.73 regular ratio axle. Hope that helps. You can find all the info here: http://www.explorervan.com/ford2010_...s_options.html

Two very important ratings not in the specifications is GCWR=Gross Combined Weight Rating. This is the maximum both truck and trailer combined weigh. The second is towing capacity, which is dependent on gearing, engine output, transmission, and engine cooling capacity.
Those ratings will be found in the owners manual.
This is just my observation- That E150 spec sheet,if I read it correctly, is the very first 1/2T rated vehicle with LR "E" tires as OEM, and is a very good thing, if it is accurate. IMO if that van has "P" rated tires it will not be a pleasant towing experience.
