TV Antenna ?

Looking to up grade my current Winegard Sensar, 3 options

1. Add Wngman to current antenna $25

2. Buy new entire Sensar head with Wingman $50

3. Try a different Brand/Style head ? $$$$

Opinions please !

Jim

After seeing those pictures of a tree laying across an RV, ( in Waynesville, Georgia) the only opinion I have is not to park under one. Can't help with the other questions, Sorry.

I'd opt for the wingman add on unless there is something broken or not working with your current unit. While you are up on the roof, inspect all connections for rust or other deterioration, lube the gears.

YOu left out an option

What I did and the results
One RV park I frequent with the basic Wingman (Senasar II or III I think an II do nto know how to tell them apart though)

NOTHING

Added Wingman 1-2 stations

Added Sensar Pro.. Got them all (At least all the ones I know of) however QSB (Fading) would bother me on a couple. but it meant I could watch TV in the RV again.

All tests run on the same site.

I would go with the Wingman and the Sensar Pro (about 100 bucks at CW, I think 70 on Amazon and if you work the discounts right one guy just paid 8 bucks for his.)

My current system and set up would make Rube Goldburg proud. as the Sensar Pro now feeds the matrix switch (As designed) and via it a digital converter, then directly a 2nd digital converter, these both fed older analog only DVR's which think the converters are satellite receivers (in fact one of them takes the same I/R codes as a VIP-211k)

In addition the original wiring is all intact (Save for the antenna lead which was re-routed to the Sensar Pro) so I can get cable.

On teh DVRs Cable comes in on the Antenna jack, Just like normal
The digital converters feed LINE-IN #1
and on the front DVR a "nose camera' feeds Line In #2 allowing me to see what is in front of the RV (Cats like watching and listening to the birds,, also works as a "Dash Cam"

DVRs chat over the LAN and can send shows to the laptop or hand held.

You see those adds "Only ______ lets you do all these things" Guess what, I do not have that service, I do have those features, have since around 2002 in fact back in the sticks, only then I had 3 DVRs

On our last coach we just added the $25.00 to $30.00 booster really helped!

I agree with wildtoad.
Howerver, because we often boondock in "fringe areas", I also added a Winegard SensarPro, which further improved the distant reception of my 18 year old Winegard batwing antenna: SensarPro TV Signal Strength Meter

BTW, this is way to aim both/either a "Winegard batwing antenna with a Wingman attached", and a "new entire Sensar head" for the best possible reception:
