TV Antenna?

We have a new White Hawk TT and the TV antenna is the roll-up type. I am concerned that when rolled down all the way it's resting on the roof material. Is there a pin missing that should hold it up parallel with the roof or something wrong with the mechanism? Sorry for asking before i have a chance to get up there and look, but if I can get some clues before going up it might help.

Also, does anyone know if the roof is rubber or PVC?

Thanks in advance.....

If it is a Winegard batwing type antenna, there are some rubber feet that contact the roofing material. I cut disks of Eternabond tape and stick them on the roof to further protect the points of contact.

mine also has the little rubber feet.. but my roof is arched.. till I get Eternabond tape, I have a 4 inches of duck tape as the plastic body of antenna is contacting the roof.

but my trailer is a used Coachmen.

I have the rubber feet on mine, no tape on roof. Been fine for 3 years.

I cut a short piece of a pool noodle and put it in place on the roof with self leveling dicor , works good and no bounce of the rubber feet on rough roads

If it is a winegard antenna, it should be mounted to a pair of square pipes that keep it parallel to the ground when raised and lowered. The head should have rubber feet when setting on the roof.

I hardly ever extend the antenna, so haven't given it much thought.

My roof is Diflex II™ is a new non-fleece backed TPO membrane from Dicor the RV Roofing Experts. Unlike standard TPO, Diflex II™ is extremely flexible and is as supple as most EPDM. It easily conforms to most RV roofing surfaces for a snug, tight fit. Diflex II™ is embossed with a light pebble pattern to dull harsh reflections and provide a classic look.
