Underbody Insulation Fabric Repair?

Had a blowout on the freeway, didn't even know it until a trucker signaled me. The tire was shredded, took out one of the mudflaps, and tore up a small area of insulation underneath, about 6" square.

Bought some fiberglass insulation and black Gorilla Tape, figured I was a genius and I'm all set. Trimmed the tatters off of the fabric (which is some kind of black plastic webbing/fabric?), wiped it down good with windex and let it dry. I was just going to fill the void with the insulation and tape the heck out of it, but I was surprised to find that Gorilla Tape won't stick to it!

I'm hoping there's a very easy fix, 'cuz I'm pretty lazy. Thoughts?

Thanks,

Rogue

I had to cut a access hole to make a repair and did a lot of reserch on the correct wat to repair it. There are repair tape out there ( Amazon Amazon.com: 4" x 108' Mobile Home Flex Mend Belly Bottom Repair-Fix Underbelly Holes & Rips: Automotive ) but a bit pricey and also read many people used Gorilla Tape with great success, mine stuck (at least for the time being ).

Thanks for the link. I'll try thoroughly cleaning it with alcohol and give the Gorilla Tape another go. If it doesn't work I'll order the Flex-Mend.

Same thing happened to me not too long ago except it took half of the sheet metal wheel well barrier as well. My research xxx ame up with a product called scrim shield tape. It is the same polyethylene material that was under my trailer. I found it at amazon. Btw, the adhesive is crazy sticky, it sticks to anything. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002SS...&robot_redir=1

The roll I bought is huge so tell.me how much you need and I will sell you only what you need.

Thanks Brian, I'll take you up on that! If it's 28" wide, I'll take 2 linear feet, that should give me enough to screw it up multiple times. Let me know how much and I'll tell you where to send it.

Thanks again,

Rogue
