Bad advise if you don't know what you're doing!

In south FL, I imagine most used trailers are reif with mildew from the humidity. You can be a non-pet, non-smoker and a neat freak, but if that thing sits around closed up and humid, it's gonna start to stink.
Keep that humidity down and it should do well.

Also, holding tanks stink, especially if the toilet is dry. This can go away when the rig is aired out and in use.

Most oder sticks to fabrics/carpet. This can be freshened up or replaced and it may be good as new. But you have to figure that out.

If a trailer has been smoked in, just walk away (unless you are a smoker). It gets in the ducts and coats every surface. Not worth the hassle or effort required. Otherwise, it needs to be so deeply discounted that you can't pass it up.

While some people and their habits (smoking, pets) can be downright stinky, the odor you are referring to is caused by water intrusion pure and simple. We have become conditioned to think of water intrusion as a leak (especially roof) but it can be drips under a sink or dampness in a mattress that is never aired out or flipped. I once spent the night in an Air Force barracks in the Azores where the mattress was soaking wet from humidity.
When looking at a used camper, that musty smell is a hint to check for leaks, feel the carpet and check for soft spots. If you don't find any, then a simple airing should be sufficient to clear any mustiness out.
