Using Installed Ladders As Carrier

I see a lot of RV/Trailers that have installed ladders being used to carry things such as step ladders, bicycles, and etc. So I started that after purchasing my TT and then I saw a video from a RV dealer that doing this is not a good because it add stress to the mounting screws over time as it flexes going down the road. Anyone experience anything like this?

our bedroom is at the rear... and use the same structure to hold the overhead cabinets (real wood) as the ladder... I am 250.. up and down the ladder.. no movement. but I do not carry anything on the ladder. and my trailer is 11 years old.

do not try if trailer is a "LITE" or similar build.

Carry a couple ham radio antennas all the time, may be 20-30lbs. Sometimes also carry a Blue Boy, about 40lbs. For years with the previous coach with no sign of issues with ladder mounts.

Well two days ago while having a conversation about our insulation issue this subject came up also in an indirect sense. The salesman and the engineer both said that they have tried to advise people not to do certain things like mounting bicycles to the ladder because eventually it does cause a problem. I've worked with a lot of engineers some of them are extremely retentive however they're usually are spot on.

Many times we all can get away with things for a while but eventually it catches up with us. I had a friend told me his neighbor, an engineer was going to rip staves for a fence around his pool using a radial arm saw. I explained why that wouldn't be a good idea his neighbor blew me off. On the 20th or so one they put it through the concrete wall in the basement.

Yep... They'll do that if you feed from the FRONT side of the blade.
The answer is to feed from the BACK side of the blade.

I haven't done it and can't do it on the present rig as it doesn't have a ladder at all.
I wonder if the people ever came back for the two bikes, carrier and part of the ladder that was sitting up against the guardrail on I-205 southbound in Portland OR a few years back?

I have carried bikes on the ladder on 2 MH's with no problem.
I would not do it on a 5er or a TT. WAY to much up and down bounce back there and the structure is different than most MH's. JMHO
