Vents

Does anyone know if the roof vents on a camper with a rubber roof. Does the inside piece screw into the outside piece or does it just screw into the ceiling. I have two that have come loose on one corner inside but appear ok from the outside.

The inside trim piece is not connected to the outside except for (usually) 4 screws holding the trim in place. The outside metal vent frame is screwed to the roof substrate then the screws and metal flange are covered with sealant. So if you remove the inside screws it does not affect the vent frame and its mounting.

On my coach it is actually both.. There is a trim "ring" that screws as I recall into the cealing, and other parts inside that screw into the top piece holding it in place.

I do not recall if the trim screws into a metal "lip" or not, been a while since I had to remove it.
