A generator is nice to have during those extremely hot days in the summer, but this time of year it's not really needed. Just buy a few extra propane tanks if you plan on using the heat alot at night. Otherwise the propane should run your fridge for a few days no problem. They are cheap to exchange at home depot, $15.

FYI a new alternative to the Honda 2000 is the Ryobi Generator they sell at Home Depot. I've been using it all summer at work and it starts on the first pull everytime. I've been very impressed with the design as they did a good job thinking it through. I think the cap is the same as the honda's too. You can get the extended run tank, but you'll need to pinch close the vent hose.
