Water pump broken
For those familiar with water pumps, I was attempting to install a bypass valve on my water pump when SNAP, off came the intake nipple. So the pump is toast. The pump is an Artis PDS1RV25, 40 lb Pressure. The question is: do I stay with the Artis, or is there something better I should look at?

I cannot answer your question, but one thing I've considered is if I ever have to replace the water pump, I'll put it someplace a little more accessible, or at least orient it so I can get to the adjusting screws more easily.

The pressure rating is not really significant. They will all be in the same general ballpark. What is significant is the specified flow rate. Yours is rated at 3 gpm. You will want a pump with the same or greater rating.

Water pump broken
My brand new Artis pump in the new trailer we bought in May leaked out the bottom the first time we used it. Fortunately I discovered this a few days before we left on a month long, thirty day trip. Due to the crappy warranty procedure and the short time frame I had before the trip I replaced the Artis with a Sure-Flo and it performed flawlessly on our trip. Now I'm working with Coleman/Keystone to get reimbursed.

Go shopping and pick the one that is the quiest and highest GPM rating.

Agree with getting one that is quiet and when installing maybe cushion it so it is extra quiet.

Quiet would be nice, but I'm not sure any pump is too quiet, however I did read that putting pipe insulation on the water tubing quiets things.
Going to call the dealership for recommendation on water pump replacement, it will be interesting to get their perspective.

I spoke to two dealers today. Neither sold Aris pumps, both suggested sureflo. So I ordered a sureflo revolution 3gpm pump.
One of the dealers said some manufacturers were using Aris because they are less expensive in new the units, he felt there lower price was also indicative of the quality of the pump

Shurflo has been around for decades and they have kept up with the market technology. Easy to find and easy to work with

Replaced the water pump today with a surflow. Mounted it on top of a foam rubber mouse pad with lots of room for piping. When I turned the pump on I wasn't sure it was on, it was so quiet. Sorry the old pump broke, especially due to the cash involved, but I'll be glad next year when the pump is quiet. What I do notice now is that a lot of the noise is from the plastic piping, not the pump. Bypass valve for winterizing worked very well also.

The above is your next step, if you can find where the tubing is vibrating against the floor or walls.
