Well... I Guess...

I suppose you could sleep 10 in that little TT... but comfortably? I am often amused by the claims manufacturers make on the number of people that can sleep in these units, but can they move? Granted, one could get that many in there, but wifey and I are a little cramped on the full queen bed. I can't imagine trying to rest with her on the dinette or the jack-knife couch... But then again, we probably could sleep 4 grand kids on one of the double bunks while they're still small... I guess they have to try everything possible to keep their sales up.

Years ago I asked a guy with a 40 foot Newell how many his coach would sleep. He said between 1 and 2 depending on what sort of mood his wife was in.

Yep...bogus claims. Ever shop for a tent. They show a diagram of people in tapered mummy sleeping bags head to toe and like saradines. A claimed 4 person tent is really a 2 person tent.

I used to have a 22' no slide TT that claimed 'sleeps 5'. It had a bunk 1.5' from the ceiling.

It's an illusion set forth by every RV manufacturer

I think the RV manufacturers use the 'average' size for Americans to determine how many an RV will sleep -5'9" for a male and the DW is 5'4". What they neglect to enter into the equation is that 'average' man also has an almost 40" waist (dang I'm NOT average at 6'4" and 37" around) and the lady, - 38" waist https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_height and Loosen your belts: U.S. waist sizes keep expanding

Our current 5er will comfortably sleep two but will accommodate at least one more adult or two pre-teens on the air mattress sofa bed. Then there is that dinette with those 4 completely uncomfortable chairs ..............

When I asked the previous owner the inevitable "how many does it sleep?" his answer: "Sleeps 6/ stacks 12"

It reminds me of the old question "what's easier to load more of into the back of a truck: babies or bowling balls?"

6 is no problem in my Winnebago 2301BH.
That's what they claim and it is correct.

Our floorplan is the suite model, where you have an open area that includes the MBR, MBA and BA. Makes for a less cluttered and compartmentalized arrangement.

For those of us that don't get, need, or generally want company, this is perfect.

Our 40' coach sleeps, lays, and accommodates two people. it works for us.

In a pinch we could sleep six in our Foretravel, but one would be on the floor and one in a recliner. Two would be on the fold-out couch. Jo Ann and I would have the bed. The cat sleeps wherever she wants anyway.

When everyone is sleeping, that's not the test. When 6 people want to, and do use the toilet, that is the true test.
