Within the past 3 months or so, one of the RV magazines had what appeared to be a very good article on checking, cleaning and lubricating the wheel bearings. For some reason or another, I now cannot find that article. Can someone give me a clue as to which RV magazine I should be looking for? ...the month? ...and what is what featured on its cover?

Thanks in advance!

I cant answer your question as to the RV magazine article, but here is an article on repacking bearings I found recently while searching yahoo. I have to replace the bearings, including the races, on a utility trailer i have, so I searched yahoo. It appears all the instructions are correct. I dont know the source, but it matches how I was taught. I just couldn't remember how to remove/replace the races.

Thanks to those that replied ...a special thanks to Terry for providing the specific magazine, page numbers, etc. That is what I was really looking for. Now to locate my November issue that I put in a safe place ...a real safe place where nobody (including me) can easily find.

Thanks again Terry ...73's OM

Al-Ko and Dexter are the two major builders of trailer axles and brake assemblies. Both have really nice downloadable owner's manuals that have lots of detail on proper bearing and brake service.

My trailer has Al-Ko, but I found Dexter's manual has some extra illustrations, so it is worth the time to download both...
