Hi everyone so what is a good battery to use with my TT? or will any deep cycle battery be okay thanks

Typically they give you an interstate battery which is fine. I had 2x 12v on my first trailer and on the 2nd trailer I got 2x 6v batteries. Works great for us. We camp about 7 times a year and 3 of those so far are boondocking.

If I were full timing I may go to something different. Especially if I do a lot of boondocking. At that point i'd go with a lot of solar and lithium batteries.

Next time I'm going with true deep cycle batteries rather than a marine/rv style. For me two 6 volts would be nice but I don't have room for them. Brand? You'll get several opinions I'm sure.

We just replaced the "coach" batteries in our Class A (two 12V)... We hemmed and hawed about which battery to go with.. I knew I DID NOT want another lead acid battery.. I really wanted complete maintenance free... We finally decided to go with the Blue Top Deep Cycle Optima batteries... really hoping they are the cats pajamas as everyone says they are..

As a side note, we invested about $30 in an indoor/outdoor solar battery maintainer.. I figured I should protect my $400+ investment..

Typically, the 12 volt "deep cycle" batteries are not true deep cycles but a hybrid of a starting battery and a deep cycle. If it lists cranking amps rather than amp hours it is most likely not a true deep cycle. Not that big a deal if you don't plan on running the furnace when you are not plugged in but if you want to do any boondocking it will be more important. 6 volt batteries are true deep cycle batteries and will last longer when discharging them quite a bit and then charging up again. Deeply discharging batteries shortens their lifespan but true deep cycles are damaged less.

6 volt golf car batts are $85 each at costco so pretty reasonably priced. A little over $200 for maintenance free AGMs.

Best battery in my opinion = Northstar ... hands down. They are pricey.

According to the spec's those are dual purpose batteries, not a true deep cycle.

I'd go with 2 or more 6 volt golf cart batteries. They can supposedly be discharged 80% repeatedly with no negative effects

I do not know...but I have heard that

US battery, and Trojan make really good deep cycle batteries.

Interstate and Crowne have a decent reputation as well...

I have not done a comparison to see what makes certain batteries stand out amongst others...just passing along hear se.

Depends on how you camp. If you usually have elec when you camp then an Interstate G24 would be perfectly fine. No use spending the big $$$ just to have it sit there not doing much.
If you dry camp without elec then 2 6V Trojans would be my choice. You may want to upgrade you charger converter if going with higher quality batteries or at least use a good quality battery charger when storing. You're going to want to get the maximum charge going to the 6V if you dry camp.
