Which residential Fridge

Will fit in the standard Dometic fridge opening? There seems to only be one main size of Dometic fridge used in TT's in the last 10 years every TT I've been in has the same fridge that I have.

I'm trying to figure out which one will fit without any major work. Our 2way fridge is on borrowed time.

thanks

Which Dometic model do you have? There are a few different ones in that range of years.

Is it a top freezer 2 door? .... or ...?

You''ll need a model or the actual dimensions of the cubbyhole.

I replaced my Dometic 2 door top freezer in my 97' Endeavor with one like this.
FF1112BL | Summit Appliance

Here's how I did mine:

Replace Dometic with Summit FF1152SS

Thanks the pictures helped a lot. Doe the res. fridges need air space around them? Inoticed you made a nice tight fit

Yes, for a residential reefer, you need the air to circulate from the bottom (the area between wheels/legs), up the back, across the top, and then out the front (the area above the freezer door.) Additionally, you need an inch or so on each side ... this is usually the same as the old Dometic.

Most residential reefers do not require clearance on the side.

The clearance on the side is actually the framing space ... usually it's the way they constructed the cubbyhole. On mine, there are outer luan walls supported by "about" 1 x 2 framing and no inner walls. The face trim has about 1/4" gap to the reefer sides.

However, clearance to open the doors is different.

You also may need enough working space at the top to clear the ceiling when you put the doors back on.

It's helpful to actually see the intended replacement to note details.

Depends on your rv - but ours came with the Samsung RF217acpn...

Being a residential fridge - it required velcro between the door handles to keep them closed when the 'earthquake' of towing happens
