OK,

silly question - but, this is the first winter I have had the trailer in my yard for the winter.

Winterizing is done, and battery out. So, can you still hook up the electrical to put in a small fan/air circ/dehumidifier etc?

what do others do??

It's usually not a good idea to plug the rig in if the battery is out of it, doing so may damage the converter. I leave my battery in during winter storage and plug the rig in about once a month for a day or so to keep it charged.

Have you considered installing a battery disconnect switch? This is much more convenient than removing the battery, and allow periodic use of your RV during storage. A charged battery will not freeze, all that is needed is a way to prevent parasitic drains from draining the battery in storage.
