I'm sure how well the peel and stick option would be but they can also be applied with adhesive. I'm hoping I can get away with cleaning the wall board and then using Kilz Oil based primer over the wallpaper to give a good base for the tiles.

I used something similar in my stick house kitchen and use some construction adhesive in case the stick-em dried out in future.
Should dress up the back splash nicely.
Have thought of removing mirrors and placing ceramic tile on mine, have fun and enjoy the new look.
Your comment about the mirrors makes me smile because I had been wanting to install mirrors in my coach until I saw this stuff. Now, I'll be starting with the kitchen sink backsplash and if I like it I'll expand it to the stove backsplash, bathroom backsplash with new vessel sink and around the top part of the shower.... I've very tall (6'6") and I get the wallboard above the shower pretty wet when washing my hair. I think I can get a good watertight seal with this.

We installed a metal deco-tile behind our galley countertop. Used polyurethane adhesive and put it right over the existing fabric-faced wall board, which was in excellent condition anyway. Looks terrific and has been there 3 years now.

We went forward with the project. Used a herringbone pattern to cover the back and side splash areas around the sink. I didn't trust the self adhesive so used Liquid Nails (one of the recommended adhesives) to secure the tiles and they seem solid as a rock. For prep, I washed the walls and applied a good coat of Kilz Original Oil Based primer.
We also replaced the small, plastic, ugly, RV sink with a full size granite composite model. AND added an instant hot water heater and dispenser which allowed us to get rid of our coffee maker from the counter.... we drink tea or instant coffee. We topped it off with a dish soap dispenser too.
The sink just barely fit into the available space after I cut the new opening using a scrowl saw with carbide tipped blade. Messy but not too tough.
I'll post photos and more detail after I complete the trim and lighting. I'm replacing the high glare florescent fixture under the cabinet above the sink with two recessed halogen puck lights and adding a 4' section of 12v rope light under the cabinet which will mount inside a frame of 1" matching trim.
I really think I'm going to like this Aspect Metal Tile. Next up is the bathroom Vessel Sink conversion and backsplash along with the area above the shower which takes a soaking when I wash my hair!
Once I got past the the trauma of cutting the first hole in the roof of my coach I was ready to take on ANY project! We're currently back in Northern California where our storage unit is located so I could pull out my 10" power miter/chop saw for this job. Now I just have to resist the urge to pull out my Sawzall.... weapon of mass destruction.
Great job. We pick up our 2002 DS Tue. the mirror backsplash is something I the wife and I didn't care for. I think this is the ticket. Thanks for a fantastic idea.
