I am considering an autoformer voltage regulator for my 30 amp service motorhome and would appreciate hearing other views from RV owners. The literature I have read in "Campers World" sounds as though this would be a wise investment. Any comments?

First of all, WELCOME to iRV2. You will find alot of good people and info here.
I have had the Hughes autoformer for several years now. Knock on wood, havent had any problems with it. I do believe this type of unit is a must for some of the campgrounds we visit. Many of them have a low voltage issue and without a autoformer, you are running your A/c or whatever on a lower than prescribed voltage which will eventually prematurely wear out the fan's etc.
Mike

P.S. Along with a autformer, you need a surge guard. The surge guard, if you can only afford
one or other, is more important than the autoformer to protect your rig.
Check out http://www.rvupgrade.com for both the surge guard and the autoformer.

I have had the 50 amp Hughes Autoformer since early spring with no problems. I was suprised to see it on in my own yard, but after checking, I do have low voltage at high usage times.
Besides rvupgrades you might also check http://www.pplmotorhomes.com to see who has the best price. I have purchased from both with complete satisfaction. Hope this helps.
