Better mileage is not why I installed my Banks system. I was looking for reliability and increased power. I did not notice any increase in mileage, but hard to tell because I haul a heavier load now then before I installed it.

I had the complete Banks system installed on a 1996 30 foot motor home on a P30/32 chassis with a 454 Chevy engine.
It seemed to climb up hills a little better but I got no increase in MPG.

Hi Rosemary,
Sometime Banks provides better MPG and sometime not. Please let us know how your installation turns out. Get about 5K miles on the system and post the results.

Thanks, will do. Right now we get about 10mpg. We just did our first short trip a few weeks ago and my husband really liked the extra power.

The mileage improvement is minimal at most. But you will get improved performance in the mid range.

Hi Rosemary,
Ahhhhhhh, he likes the power. That tells me there will be no MPG improvement. Hubby will need to drive the coach the same a BB (Before Banks) to see any MPG improvement. This will take the will power of a Saint.

I have a Banks Power Pack installed on a 2003 Ford V-10 Class C. My avaerage MPG for 5,300 miles befor the Banks was 9.00 MPG, for 10,800 miles after the Banks it is 9.30 MPG. This includes all types of driving (Flatlands & Mountains) Since I do not have a TOAD, I usually drive the speed limit-65 MPH. On those times I am caravaning with people with TOADS or trailers and drive 55 MPH I get 10.5 MPG. The big advantage of the Banks is accelerating unto the California freeways where the traffic is going 70MPH plus. I also noticed considerable more power in the mountains. For me safety is the value not increased MPG.

Which Hurricane do you have?
I would be really interested in the results, because mine is also a 2001!

Had the Banks put on my 97 ford Flair, also on the 07 Winne WH 8.1, not really looking for mileage, looking for power and toque, and that's what I got.

As with diesel "Banks Systems", There appear to be at least 4 for gas engines. Wonder which "system" was installed?

We put it on our 95 ford 460. I did not see a noticable improvement in mileage, but the power over the hills was impressive. We also avoided any further exhaust manifold warping and cracking problems. If I ever go back to a gas coach, it gets Banks before it leaves the dealer.
