In May I installed my Blue Streakchemical dispenser. The kit included everything that I needed to do the install...

clear instructions for my toilet and several other popular versions,
dispenser tank and cover
1/8" hose
vacuum "T" connector
adjustable line regulator
1 qt of Blue Streak black tank chemical[/list]After just a couple of weekends I decided that my toilet water was maybe too "blue" (the color was royal blue). So I pinched the regulator down one notch and got a lighter sky blue in the toilet.

This is a great product, and I want to recommend it to everyone. Beware though, the installation requires that you remove, disassemble, and drill one hole in your RV's toilet.

Donny finally installed our unit a few weeks ago (no hurry, we won it in the raffle at the National Rally). Anyway, we're really liking it!

Only issue is, I can't seem to find replacement fluid... even at camping world. Do they have a website or something?

If you have Sealand toilet, you dont have to remove it. Just cut into the line in the back up by the vacuum unit.

As an alternative to formaldahyde chemicals, I have been using urea fertilizer which works like Odorloss. 1/4 cup per 40 gallons once a week. When starting out, make sure you flush all other chemicals out. This stuff actually feeds the bacteria, producing odorless nitrogen gas so the tank must be free of anything that kills the bacteria. Start the tank with two gallons of water and 1/4 cup of the fertilizer. During the summer when we use the rig only on weekends and dump every three weeks, I add 1/4 cup urea at the beginning of each weekend. I have found it works like a charm and is environmentally friendly. It costs about 1/10 the price of the RV chemicals. FWIW.

casey---your so correct, a bacteria is the only way to go, i use rid-x and can go untill my tank is full with no smell, sometimes in my newmar dp. it is 7 weeks depending on where i am stuck, and as of now im testing the new 04 crf250s and my toyhauler has 11 weeks on it and no smell, an best of all it costs about $8.50 a year.--the perfume and preserve it method is the worst way to go!!!

I have been using blue streak for a month and it works great. If you buy the package deal with the bottles the device pays for itself.

I was wasting money on pouring the blue chemical myself and always worried about my friends and family who came on pouring too much or spilling it. All the worries and smell have gone away. Its a must have just like the onan ec 30 auto start.

I've been using the Blue Streak for over a year now and wouldn't be without one. I've settled on diluting the Blue Streak chemical by 1/2; it does the job and of course lasts longer. The big advantage to me is that if it's convenient I can dump the tank even it's only 1/4 full without feeling that I've wasted chemical.

I have used a few different liquid chemicals with the Blue Streak system with no problems.

The issue with bacteria type solutions for RV'ing is that for most of us Friday & Saturday night weekend campers that is not enough time for the product to do it's job.

We worked with Chempace who is a leader in Port-a-Pottie chemicals and a mask is the only thing that will work for real short dump cycles like most campers are doing. The key is having plenty of water in the tank, if there is not enough water to cover what is in the tank than you will always have stink no mater what chemical you use. You also always want to pre-charge the tank with at least 5 gallons of water (may vary depending on the size of your tank)and the correct amount of chemical. In the case of the Blue Streak unit you get a little chemical while your flushing so you should add the water for the pre-charge through the toilet versus say a quickie flush or black tank rinse device.

Saw this post a couple of weeks ago. I have always worried about not to much or too much chemical. I ordered the Blue Streak and installed in my MH. Took all of about 15 minutes to do. Works exactly as described -- great addition to the MH and I am glad that everyone made the post.
