Brake buddy
Anyone using the brake buddy classic? There's a few for sale that seem reasonable. I see they were discontinued awhile ago and replaced with a brake buddy 2 and 3. The videos ive seen show easy setup and similar to the patriot system.
Anyone using the system or used in the past can give a review?

We used a BB Classic for about 5 years. The Classic was simple & easy to operate & worked flawlessly for us. Only reason we quit using it was, at the time, BB had an excellent trade in offer on a Vantage Select & we wanted to step up to the proportional braking.

We used BB Classic for 7 years. Results were great. We started towing a Jeep, and added invisibrake.

Same feedback - been using it for 2 years. Easy to set up and use.

Brake buddy
My BB classic locked up. Had to replace calipers and rotors. I have Demco’s Air Force One and would not go back.

We have been using a Brake Buddy Classic since 2001. We are on our 2nd RV and second Toad with the same unit. Our new Toad is a 2016 Jeep Wrangler and the Brake Buddy Classic doesn't quite have enough adjustment to match the seat configuration, so I have to use a bungee cord attached to the seat frame to prevent the BB from lifting while braking. Found that out while pushing the test button on installation. BB still works flawlessly.

Had the same issue with lifting. Made a wood platform to bungee it to and problem solved. Jeep floor boards not flat. Also replaced with lighter connection because it kept coming loose. Used Powerwerx connections.

I did the same thing. Could not believe the deal I got on trade for a broken Buddy. Very satisfied with my new Vantage select.

We have used our BB classic since 2007. I bought it used from someone so I don’t know how old it was when I bought it. Had to call them once for troubleshooting. Determined it was the plug in the tow vehicle so they sent me a kit for free!!! We changed tow vehicles twice and each time I called them to buy a plug kit and each time they sent me one free!! They wouldn’t let me pay for them. I did just recently send it in for service-they said they would repair it if it was cheaper than a new unit or give me a trade in deal. It cost me $250 to get it rebuilt with shipping. It works better than ever! Great product and company to deal with.

Would you please take a pic of your setup for us, that have the classic and Jeep? I have had the BB Classic for a year and have noticed the same twisted slide during the initiation. I believe our Classic works fine, but haven’t had to apply hard braking yet to notice any difference. We inherited the Classic from the former owners of our Newmar BS3401. They told me it wasn’t working, but they stuck it in their toad in case LE stopped them. Wow! Anyway, I sent it back to the factory and for around $250 they rebuilt it and gave us a year warranty.
