I'm thinking about getting one of the 7' folding stepladders from CW and looking for any feedback from others who might have one. I have the Extend-and-Climb ladder which is OK but a stepladder would be better overall, I believe.

I believe Winnebago includes these as a standard item on Vectra's and Horizons so I've asked this question on both the Winne and Product Eval. forums.

I have one and have used it a lot on the road. Works fine - not as heavy duty as your typical home step ladder, but sure is easy to store. You DO have to learn where NOT to put your fingers when you're folding it- if you forget, it will remind you.

I've got one and like it. I have the two sided one. It is more stable than the one with steps on only one side.

I've had one for two years. It works as advertised and I would make the same purchase again. I also purchase the work platform that one can place on a step. It provides a place to put what ever you are working with when your hands need to do something else.

My coach came with one and I really like it. It is a lot more convienent than carrying around and stowing a regular home step ladder.

One suggestion - do not stow it wet. It will rust.

I like the one that came with the motorhome for certain things but I seem to use the extend and climb more often.

I have had the 2 side 7' model for about 5 years now and have used it extensively. I have a pas through basement with a pull out tray and initially just laid the ladder on the tray. it only took a couple of trips to see that something needed to be done as any time I wanted to use the ladder I had to fight all the stuff that had migrated around it making it impossible to get out. Solution: bought a 5" square PVC fence post from Lowes, cut off the finial, fastened to tray and now with zip problem the ladder is easily removed from either side of the coach, Ken,'04 DSDP...

Gary - we ordered our coach with the ladder option and it was well worth the expense in hindsight. It came with a nice swing-out storage case so it always has a home and I always know where to find it (unlike almost everything else I'm looking for in the basement.)

We also have the 7' two sided folding stepladder.
Wish we had done it sooner, the 6' regular stepladder was a bit of a pain to store since I'm not a fan of hanging stuff on the rear ladder, mind you without something hanging on the ladder how is anybody supposed to know we fulltime

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I will be ordering the 2 sided 7' ladder today. Like the idea of storing it in the 5" vinyl fence post.

I have the 6' single sided foldable from CW. I don't have a pass through, so the 6' was the longest I could fit. I am 6' so I can still reach the top of the MH when necessary. However, I do have a 7' foldable that I used to carry in my pickup bed when I had the 5ver. It's like new, but I don't need it anymore. I can be had CHEAP to get it out of my garage!

You might want to check out the Little Giant Ultra Step. I bought on a few months ago and have been very happy with it. It Extends to 8' but retracts to 5'8" to fit in my bay. Weighs about 30 pounds. Website here:
