Le Cruset has an outstanding warranty policy---

We bought a 4 1/2 qt cast iron round oven, over "Thirty One" (yes- 31) years ago. Cindy has used it constantly for all those years. It came in a set of 4 pieces. We think the set cost us around $100 at that time.

While she was making Spaghetti sauce about a month and a half ago, she said "I think my pot has a crack in it!". I confirmed her observation- It was a vertical crack on the side, from the top to the bottom.- nothing leaking out, so I called Le Crueset in South Carolina, and they told me to pack it up and ship it to them. I had to pay for the postage. Today, FedEx delivered a brand new pot to us-- No charge!!

Here is a picture of it-

I looked us a price on the internet today- It's worth about $200.

I told her to "Get busy"- Ha, Ha

Side bar:
If you notice the bottle of "Pecan" oil next to the new pot it has an interesting story behind it.

We, actually Cindy, is going through Cataract surgery now (both eyes have been done- another month before she is released)- all is well.
While I was in the waiting room for her I was talking with another patient about cooking Shrimp (heck, we're in Shrimp and Oyster country), he mentioned to me he uses "Pecan" cooking oil for his "Scampi". I said "where do you get that" he said "at the small, independent drug store down the road- it's the only place I can find it", weird-- I thought. When I got home I looked it up on the internet- very interesting! I know it's "dear" in price.

When I got to the Drug store I looked for it and could't find it. As I was leaving, I asked the lady at the counter about it. She said "It's right there near the pharmacy!". I then asked how come your selling that in a drug store? She said the Doctors in the (Gulfport/ Biloxi ,MS) area got wind of this oil and they are recommending it to their patients to use for all cooking now. It has become a great seller for them.

How about that folks?

Where's the pharmacy?

My brother-in-law lives in Biloxi and I'll get him to ship some oil up to us.
